I bet you’ll agree when I say:
There’s nothing that sucks people in, keeps their attention and gets people to take action like a good story does.
It’s been proven over and over again:
For example, after 101 Dalmatians was released adoption rates for dalmatians skyrocketed for a couple of years, because the story was so compelling that a lot of people wanted to get one for themselves.
That’s what a good story can do for you!
In this post I’m going to share with you two storytelling tips to tell stories that grabs people’s attention and moves them to take action. I’ll be sharing two ways to tell stories that you can implement today into your business!
Why you should be telling stories
Before I’m going to share these storytelling tips with you, it’s important that you know why you should be telling stories in the first place.
And there’s some sound reasons:
Firstly, go back into your childhood. I’m not completely sure about you, but I absolutely loved when my parents used to tell me stories, like fairy tales and stuff. They were always fun and interesting to hear!
Even growing up, I’ve continued to love stories, just like you do.
Think about it:
Every movie you ever watched (and liked), every soap, most television series and all (fictional) books, they’re all stories and people love them!
One of the main reasons you should be implementing storytelling into your business is because it simply works and there’s no need to reinvent the wheel. We’re programmed from the cradle to listen to stories, so it only makes sense to use them in your marketing as well, don’t you agree?
Secondly, you need to realize that pretty much any of your competitors can write about the same topics you write on. The same kind of techniques, the same tips and the very same knowledge.
But don’t get disappointed yet…
When you get good at storytelling, you have the potential to give a hundred spins to these concepts. You’ll be able to draw people in through your stories and it will give you a unique angle that will make YOUR content stand out from everyone else’s!
When you take things that have happened in your life or take a movie you watched and turn it into a story that provides value to them, you will not only grab their attention but you will also bond with your audience.
People can connect with you through the stories you tell.
Let’s jump into these storytelling tips!

2 Storytelling methods to use
There’s a lot of different ways to tell stories, I’m going to share to of those ways with you right now.
Here’s one of my favorites:
One of the easiest ways is using a fairy tale, or create your own variation of it. And since most fairy tales already have a “moral of the story”, it’s pretty easy to tie it into your message.
And of course you should add one more thing:
Like the title of this post suggests, you want to use storytelling to actually make money. You need to include a call to action into your story to get people to take action.
So here’s a short example of this storytelling tip in action:
So once upon a time there where two bloke that made a bet to see who’s faster.
They were mister Turtle and mister Hare.
So they decided to hold a little race to see once and for all who’s faster.
A gunshot was heard…
and the race is on!
Mister Hare took the lead immediately, leaving the much slower turtle far far behind.
Being both over-confident and lazy, the hare decided to take a little nap and rest up before going the extra mile to the finish line.
What could possibly go wrong?
But by the time he woke up, the turtle had won the race already.
Here’s what this teaches us:
If you want to make money online, you absolutely need to stay consistent to make this work for you!
No matter how good your start is, if you don’t stay consistent you will never reach that finish line.
Don’t wait, take action!
This story illustrates the principle that “slow and steady” wins the race.
But it’s a false concept!
You absolutely need to make steady process, but why do things slow instead of fast?
If right now, you’re not getting the results that you want you’ll need to change something.
Don’t try to reinvent the wheel and put yourself on the fast track by following a proven system.
Save yourself hours and hours of trying to figure things out on your own and get the tools and training that you need to succeed.
Like a turtle with a scooter:
Be extremely consistent with building your business, but build it the smart way and with the right tools.
Quick story that reminds people of an important message and I tied it into a call to action to generate leads.
How to connect through your stories
Now this next storytelling technique is amazing for connecting with your readers, works like gangbusters.
I’m talking about the personal story.
When you share things that have happened in your life, you’re allowing your readers to get to know you, to connect with you. The very same connection that makes them trust you more and want to stick around you.
So here’s an example of the personal story in action:
So I remember the day as if it was yesterday:
The day that I turned 18 and the day that I first got into a car as the driver for my first driver’s lesson.
That was my birthday gift, pretty cool right?
So I get into the car with the instructor sitting on the passenger’s seat, I buckle up my seat belt and adjust my chair and the mirrors, etc.
And my instructor was like:
Alright Maikel, go ahead and start the car and drive off in that direction, he said while pointing to the right.
Note: I had never driven a car before…
So what do you do in a case like that?
I paused for maybe 2 seconds or so, I turned my head to my right and looked at my driving instructor and said:
Okay sure, erm how do I do that???
I didn’t have a clue what to do at all. Luckily I had someone right next to me who knew exactly what to do.
And it’s just the same in business.
I see many people wandering around the interwebz aimlessly because they don’t have a clue what they’re doing at all.
Maybe, you’re one of them.
If you’re trying to make money from home and you feel like you’re stuck, then you really need some guidance.

There’s the second storytelling technique right in action.
So how do you put these storytelling tips to use?
Now that you know how to tell stories, how do you go about actually implementing this information?
Here’s the good thing:
You can use this format pretty much everywhere. You can write it out as a blog post, tell your story in a video, use it into an email or even tell the story on social media (just don’t try to use this on Twitter, for obvious reasons).
So pick one…
You have at your disposal two different templates for telling your story. Don’t waste time, pick one of them and write out the story Today, not tomorrow!
It’s up to you now:
Like I always say, you have to take action and implement this technique if you want to have any chance of getting results, so take action!
