There are multiple ways to build a network marketing company. You can both do it offline and you can do it online, and there’s plenty of ways to do it either way.
Mainly there are two types of building: Prospecting and Marketing.
Which one is best for you will depend on your situation.
Let’s start off with explaining what each of these mean so we have a better understanding.
What is Prospecting?
When you first joined your network marketing company you may have heard your sponsor or a leader say:
“Go make a list of your friends and family, and invite them for a meeting” or something along those lines.
This is one form of prospecting.
Other things you could do is talk to people you meet when you’re on and about (gas stations, shopping mall, anywhere) or using social media like Facebook to prospect people.

Generally speaking prospecting is a network marketing strategy where you go out to find and connect with people that might be interesting in joining your team.

Then what about Marketing?
Depending on what company you’re in, you may have never been taught any actual marketing. (I happened to be lucky enough that I have been)
For the sake of these network marketing tips I’ll try to keep it as simple as possible (I can talk about this for hours on end):
Marketing is the act of creating messaging you send out into the world, in the hopes that someone responds the right way (become a lead, ask for more information, buy a product, etc.). This could be a blog post (like you’re reading now), it could be a video, it could be a value post on Facebook, etc.
Prospecting vs. Marketing
When comparing the two I like to use analogies, or in this case I’ll use the comparison with fishing.
