Imagine this for just a second:
You’re driving in your car on your way home from the job that you don’t enjoy working at. When suddenly your phone rings. You pick it up using your handy dandy hands-free car phone (don’t want to cause any accidents here) and on the other side of the line you hear an unfamiliar voice.
The mysterious stranger.
Before you can even ask the person who he is, he tells you you this:
Hey listen, I know that you don’t like the job you’re working at so I’ve gone ahead and sent you the money you need to pay this months bills and I will pay them from now on. So you can go ahead, quit your job and do the things that you really love doing.
And before you can thank him, he hangs up the phone…
Major disbelief goes through your head, so as soon as you get back home you rush to your computer and check your bank account. And guess what? In there is a deposit for the same amount you would earn in a month. Totally flabbergasted!
And a couple of months later…
The mysterious stranger calls again!
For the past few months you’ve been enjoying your life, doing the things you love doing most. And lately you’ve been looking at the local car dealerships gazing at your dream car.
When you pick up the phone you hear a voice that vaguely sounds familiar now.
And he says to you: You know what? You’ve been driving around in this old car you’re driving around in right now for too long. I think you deserve to have that car you’re dreaming of, so I went ahead and bought it for you. It’s on your driveway and the keys and paperwork are all in the dashboard cabinet of the car.
You’re like… WoW!
But again, before you can thank the mysterious stranger or ask who he actually is, he hung up the phone again.
When arriving home, your eyes start to glaze over as you see the car you’ve always wanted and it’s your favorite color too!
You sprint all the way to it, trip along the way, open the door and you check the dashboard cabinet. Guess what’s in there?
The keys and the paperwork for the car. And it has your name on it!
Life is good:
You have the free time to enjoy with family, friends or just to goof off and enjoy your favorite hobbies that you didn’t have time for just a few months ago. You’re driving the car of your dreams and things seem like they couldn’t possibly get any better!
Or could it?
The Third Call
Again we’re moving ahead a couple of months ahead in time.
When taking your family out on trips to the beach, you can’t help but notice a nice looking beach house along the way going there. Every time you drive past there, it captivates your attention more and more, and each time you see it you begin to yearn for it more and more.
And then one day…
You get a phone call and answer it. You hear a voice that is now sound pretty familiar, it’s our mysterious benefactor again.
He tells you: “Hey, you know that beach house? Because I want you and your family to get the best of the best, I’ve gone ahead and actually bought the house for you. If you drive over there, you will find the key below the doormat and the deeds to the house are inside on the kitchen table.
And again… he’s long gone before you can even thank him.
Your ears are still a bit fuzzy, and you’re wondering if you heard it correctly. It sounds too good to be true…
So what do you do?
In all of your excitement you rush out the door to check if what the mysterious stranger said is actually true. Only to discover that it’s the early morning and you’re still wearing your pajamas’s, whoops…..
A couple of minutes later (while fully dressed), you get into your car and you drive over to the house.
Anxious to get there you drive and drive (way too fast), almost crash the car into the front door, you jump out of the car and lift up the doormat.
And there it is:
Just like the mysterious stranger had told you, there’s was indeed a key beneath the doormat.
You pick it up…
Your hands are shaking from sheer excitement. Shaking so much in fact that it takes you 4 tries to get it into the keyhole. Once you get it is, you turn the key… and the door actually opens.
You check out the house, inspect all of the rooms and everything looks even better than it did from the outside.
As you walk into the kitchen you notice there’s a stack of papers laying on the table.
You pick them up….
Your pupils start to dilate as you realize you’re not only holding the deed to the house, but the house is YOUR property!
And in a relatively short time:
Your time has been freed up, you have both the time and financial freedom to do the things you really love, and now you live in your dream house with that one awesome car in the driveway!
All thanks to the mysterious stranger.
And guess what?
The mysterious stranger exists…
Yep it’s true.
Now obviously, the mysterious stranger is a metaphor for something else. It’s a story that I originally heard from a guy named Frank Kern.
You might have heard of him.
Frank’s really an amazing guy that I’ve learned sooo much from! Guy’s a genius when it comes to making money online, especially when it comes down to conversions.
Anywayz, back to the story:
You may or may not have guessed by now that the mysterious stranger represents your email list and your customers.
When you have an email list you have access to traffic on demand. It doesn’t matter whether you got a new blog post, are releasing a new product or you want to make money as an affiliate for somebody else. Having an email list allows you to get traffic on demand and more importantly: make money!
Don’t have a list yet? Check out this free training!
But there is something that is even more important than having an email list. Think about the kind of emails that enter the spam folder of your inbox every day. Do you open any of them? Do you click on a link inside of them?
I know I don’t…
The truth is that the money is NOT in the list (like most gooroo’s will tell you). You need to have a great relationship with the people on your email list for it to be successful. Unfortunately this blog post is too short to also explain exactly how to do this, so I’ve created a video training that will explain exactly how to do just that!
The best part? It’s absolutely Free! Click here to get instant access.
Whether you want to take me up on the offer above, the truth is that you absolutely need to build your email list, period!
If you have a blog, make sure you are collecting people’s email and giving calls to action for people to join your email list. If you are using any kind of paid traffic, make sure that you send it to a lead capture page so those people can join your email list.
If you don’t, you might never get that person to your website again!
To your success,
