Have you ever tried something and failed horribly?
Doesn’t matter what it is…
And then, on TV or YouTube or wherever you see somebody that’s just amazing at the thing you just failed at. And it really makes you think:
How come they can’t do it and I can’t?
Wanna know the truth? Here it is:
The difference between the beginner and the expert is that the expert has failed more often than the beginner has tried! Click to Tweet this!
The truth about failure
A lot of people tend to get discouraged and demotivated if they try something and it completely bombs.
You might have experienced something similar yourself.
Unfortunately, I see people give up way too soon (in all sorts of things), which is kinda silly really.
Think about this:
Did you succeed the first time you were learning to ride a bike?
Were you able to handle your car well the first time you tried driving it?
And what about learning math as a kid, playing an instrument or learning a new skill?
I know I didn’t.
Every beginning is difficult and it is practice and experience that makes things go easier and allows you to become successful at something.
The Joy of Failure
I get it, nobody wants to fail, right?
Personally I can’t stand failing at something and I certainly can’t stand losing, but I know it’s inevitable.
And failure isn’t necessarily bad:
As long as you learn the lesson from it and you use the experience to do better next time (even if it’s just a small improvement), you are making progress.
It’s what I like to call the joy of failure.
If you’re not trying new things and doing something every day to get yourself closer to your goals, you’re not making any progress.
Imperfect action ALWAYS beats perfect inaction! Click to Tweet this.
If you get one thing from this blog post let it be this:
Don’t let your fear of failure prevent you from taking action towards your goals. Learn to embrace the failure because it means you are taking action and thereby moving closer to your dreams!
But nothing’s going to happen until you take action!
