All achievement starts with the right mindset.
If you’re stuck in the failure mindset, your success will become way harder to reach. It’s as if you’re carrying a backpack full of rocks and your shoes are made out of lead while you try to walk up a steep hill.
If you ever felt this way (or still do) then this blog post will help you get out of the failure mindset and get you focused in the right direction.
What does the “failure mindset” even mean?
One of the most common ones is the fear of failure.
We may be scared of what may happen when we don’t reach the goal we set for ourselves. Friends and family may laugh at you, you may be stuck someplace you don’t want to be in or not be able to really impress that one person.
And once you get wrapped inside those feelings it’s hard to snap out of it.
Being stuck inside of the failure mindset can be so devastating to your success, because it creates a downward spiral:
You think too much about how you’re not going to get the results that you want, which causes you to lose some enthusiasm and take less action, which of course reinforces the feeling you had that you cannot do it.
So how do you break out of this loop?
Watch yo’ mouth!
And I’m dead serious when I say that!
The things we pay attention to most tend to be the things that we attract into our lives. In other words, you speak your world into existence.
You should aim your thoughts at the positive things you do want instead of what you don’t want.
Do you remember…
When you were watching cartoons as a kid and the characters needed to cross a canyon or a valley ir something? There was always one character that’s completely terrified of crossing the (usually unstable) bridge.
And guess what the rest of them say?
Whatever you do, don’t look down?
And for a few moments all the person is focused on is “I must not look down, I must not look down”. That’s all that’s rushing through their brain.
And then they always look down!
The reason is because our subconscious mind can’t deal with negatives. It’s impossible to “not think of something” without referencing what you shouldn’t think about.
Just like me asking you not to think of an elephant on roller blades.
Stop it! Just stop it!
The key takeaway here should be to drop any negative language you may have, both in conversations with other and those you have with yourself.
I don’t wanna hear those words come out of you ever again, period.
Find a strong positive reinforcement and try to use that instead of saying something like “I have a failure mindset”.

Failure’s worst enemy
There is one thing above all else that will eliminate failure and the negative thoughts and feeling that we tend to associate with it.
Do you know what it is?
It’s persistent and consistent action moved by a strong motivation to achieve a certain goal.
It is, theoretically at least…
The best way to feel like a winner is to take action and get results from those actions. It’s almost impossible to have that fear of failure when your results tell you things are going great!
But that’s also the problem…
Most people never take the consistent action to get to that point. Just look at the gyms in February as opposed to January first.
Yep, they’re a heckuvalot emptier by then.
With New Year’s we make up resolution that aren’t really resolutions at all, just like some of the goals you may have set for yourself.
To resolve means “to decide firmly on a course of action”, which is usually not the case (but that’s a completely different story).
Decide for yourself that this is what you want and that you will continue going until you succeed. No matter the challenges, no matter what others say, you WILL take action.
That’s it, period!
When you do put in that continuous effort you’re going to see results. Probably small at first, but it’ll get bigger over time.
And as they grow, so will your confidence and your mindset.
What to do next!
Lots of people let the fear of failure prevent them from taking action and ultimately from reaching their goals.
Don’t let this be you!
The first thing you should do is to take a good honest look at your situation. Which of the 3 causes are you facing? Is the problem mostly that you are discouraging yourself every single day by the words you use to describe your situation and life around you?
If you know that’s you, then the first thing you should do is to carefully watch and correct the way you talk. And additionally I would advice you to seek support from like-minded people.
There’s a community that I’m part of that I would recommend if you’re building a home business. You can get more information here.
If you know you have a solid plan that you can follow – one that has been proven successful – then you need to put the fear aside for a second and take action. Part of the fear is that you’re going to have to do something you probably haven’t done before.
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable and push yourself outside of your comfort zone.
But, what if…
What if you’re stuck in your business and you don’t really have a clue what you’re doing? That’s the most dangerous situation to be in, because if you don’t know what to do you can’t move towards your goals confidently.
What you would need first in this case is a solid step by step plan of action you can follow.
