You see them, don’t you?
Those bloggers with their huge audiences, tons of raving fans and the status and recognition that you so deeply desire to have yourself.
And it makes you jealous, doesn’t it?
Because deep down inside YOU want to become just like that person, you want to become a successful blogger yourself.
For some reason you can’t seem to get to that next level in your business.
Here’s the deal:
Their success is definitely NOT an accident! There are certain attributes these successful bloggers share that got them to where they are today.
The attributes of successful bloggers
In this post I’m going to be sharing with you 7 of these attributes.
Obviously these won’t be all of the attributes of successful people, because there are a lot of different things that high performers do.
Alright let’s get into it:
The first thing to remember is this:
Success doesn’t happen overnight, it happens through consistent action, trial and error and lessons learned from your mistakes.
One of my mentors Ray Higdon is making over 6 figures a MONTH through his blog!
It’s because he’s extremely consistent, it’s like a clockwork. He actually publishes a new blog post virtually every single day, how’s that for consistency.
Do you think that Ray would be at the level of success he’s at today, if he wasn’t consistent?
Yeah, I didn’t think so either.
You absolutely NEED to stay consistent and keep on putting in the effort required in order for you to see the results.
#2 Willingness to make mistakes
The path to success is not a straight line.
Not by a long shot:
It’s a curvy dirt road filled with bumps, hidden holes and roots to make you trip along the way. It’s the road you must walk, no matter how treacherous it may be.
The willingness to walk this path in one of the attributes successful bloggers and everyone who has had great success have in common.
Are you willing to fail?
As Napoleon Hill said in his book “Think and Grow Rich”, after having analysed hundreds of the most successful men and women of his time:
“Their product or service may be different, but the story of their success is the same: dreams, followed by failures, followed by lessons learned, then success.” Click here to Tweet this.
Notice the bold part:
On your path to becoming a popular blogger you absolutely are going to make mistakes, learn from these mistakes!!
#3 Set high goals
“No more effort is required to aim high in life, to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty.”
– Napoleon Hill
The question is, are you setting your goals high enough?
If you are constantly hitting the goals you set for yourself, it tells you that you are setting your goals too low.
You should strive for more.
Some of the most successful people, like Oprah for example, have set extremely high goals for themselves.
Do they reach all of those goals?
A lot of times they don’t, because of the incredibly high and demanding goals.
Because high performers are giving it their 100%, even if they don’t hit their goals, they get way ahead of the unsuccessful people aiming just slightly above where they are at today.
Stop aiming so f*cking low!
Aim high and put in the action to get to that point, and you’ll see yourself making more progress over time.
Let’s face it:
If you want to build a successful business of any kind, whether it’s a blog, brick ‘n mortar, eCommerce, or whatever kind of business, you’re not going to see any results….
You dedicate yourself to your business, do whatever it is you need to do no matter what and stand by it until you succeed!
Would you really think…
That any real entrepreneur had the attitude of “dipping their toes in the water” or “Yeah, I’m gonna try this for a while.”?
Like Jeff Rose said on “Entrepreneur On Fire”:
“Persistence, consistency and dedication all added up big in the end.”
#5 Continuous Learning
Let’s face it:
If you are reading this post, you most likely don’t know what it takes to build a successful blog from the ground up.
And here’s a shocker:
Neil Patel, Ryan Deiss, Tim Ferriss, or any other popular blogger on the internet, didn’t know how to this this either when they first got started.
They were smart enough to get a mentor and learn from somebody that DOES actually know how to do it.
Making mistakes is part of the journey, making mistakes that could have been avoided by somebody who has made these mistakes is unnecessary!
If you wanna train your dog, listen to Ceasar Milan or another dog expert.
If you wanna play piano, you get piano lessons or you buy a course that teaches you step by step.
And if you want to learn how to blog, you invest your time and/or money into your education and then you act upon your new-found knowledge!
Heed these words:
“A smart man learns from his mistakes, but a truly wise man learns from the mistakes of others.”
#6 Belief in their abilities
Fear crushes more dreams before the person has even started, than failures along the way ever will.
The one thing…
The one thing that every successful person has in person is the fact that their desire was greater than their fear of failure.
That’s why we know their story.
And for each and every one of them, there are hundreds, even thousands of people that had the same desire. But their fear stopped them right in their tracks!
In simple terms:
Take the first step and have faith that you’ll figure things out as you go along! Click here to Tweet.
This is perhaps the most important of the attributes of successful bloggers and highly successful people in general.
Just take the leap of faith and get started!
#7 Work on their minds
Another characteristic that many (if not all) self-made millionaires share is that they are constantly working on keeping their mindset right (in addition to improving their skills).
This is perhaps the most important of the attributes that top earners and achievers share.
Why do you need to keep your mindset right?
Simply put, because your skill set combined with hard work is only half of the battle.
If you don’t get your mindset right you WILL fail!
The reason being is you’re going to quit when times get rough, when you meet with temporary defeat or when people are trying to talk you down.
You need to protect yourself!
If you want to get bigger results, get around people that play at a higher level! Click to Tweet this.
Here’s an example of thinking big:
I remember meeting with Kevin Harrington from Shark Tank and inventor of the infomercial at an event last June. And at the time he was thinking of creating an online course teaching about marketing.
And somebody asking him:
“Are you going to be working together with one of the internet marketing “gurus”? (can’t remember who he was talking about)”
His reply was priceless:
He simply said “I’m trying to steer clear from these guys, because they’re “only” doing a couple of million per year in revenue.”
How’s that for thinking big?
When you get around people that think big your vision will start to grow and give you extra motivation.
Work on yourself every single day!
I realize not everyone can travel around to meet and mastermind
These are just 7 of the attributes of successful bloggers and of course there are other success habits.
How many of these habits are you actively implementing in your own life? Leave me your answer in the comments below!
